Evaluation Tasks - Grant
Question 1:
Question 2:
Question 3:
For this task we had to explain the feedback we were given. we had to do this over our final music video,we did this by recording our voice and the putting it over the footage.
We also made some thumbnails tat included text. We did this to help the viewer have an idea on what parts we were talking about.
Question 4:
Construction: In the construction of our music video we used a program called Final Cut. This is a very good program that allowed us to easily edit our footage if you have a basic understanding. We spent roughly 10 hours editing our music video to try and full fill all of the characteristics of the genre of the music video. The Main characteristics of the music video was that we needed to be editing to the beat of the music video. We tried to do this to the best of our ability and to try and make it look professional. Some of the effects we used were fades that help to make it look professional and helped to switch to the other narrative. We used some filters as well to try and portray what the girl is feeling. For example every-time you see the girl she is desaturated and black and white. Another filter we used was the colour corrector. This was very useful because it helped to make the plain background stand out and make it look more interesting and better to watch. We also reversed and edited the footage of keifer on the stairs , this helped to give it a more indie feel and portray the narrative.
Research: In the research stage of our music video we used Google mainly because it had all of the information we needed. We used it to research the places that we was going to film at and helped us to asses the risk and health and safety. We also used YouTube to research our music video. YouTube helped us to decipher what an indie record's music video should look like. It gave us all the ideas that we used in our video, such as the contrast and saturation effect, and the colour corrector effect.
Planning: In the planning stage we used mainly one technology, Blogger. This was really good because it let us keep a moving record of what we were doing and helped us keep on top of things. It also helped us generate a bigger picture of what we was going to do in the music video and help us know when to meet up for filming

Ancillary Product Analysis - Q1 23
The font that you have used is clear and is easy to read. We like the idea of how you have cut the artist up into 3 pictures however they are quite plain pictures and don't really add to the other 3 sides. We think some filters or effects should be used on the photos in order to make them more appealing.
Ancillary Texts Feedback - Q1-21
Magazine advert
The position of the artist and the Digipak logo seem out of place. It feels like the logo should be on the wall, not overlapping with the artist. We also feel instead of having the artist stand centre of the frame he should have been placed slightly left or right of his position. All information is given, though there's a lack of a title for the Digipak.
The genre is inferable because of the style of the logo used and the black and white image. The costume for the singer though is less obvious and could easily be confused for a hip-hop or rap genre.
Digipak
We like the inside panels of the Digipak, and feel the theme of the singer and different parts of his body is effective. The only negative for this Digipak is that we feel the third panel is out of place because it is completely detached from the other images.

Q1-24 Feedback on Ancillary products
Digi-pak:
Pros:
- front and back suit the conventional of the genre
- inside (image on the left) expresses the artist/band
- 'one night only' stands out which is good if it was in a store and on the shelf. We would be likely to pick it up
- the spines are simple and effective
Cons:
- The 3 images of the artist that single out his style of fashion don't show relevance to the artist until queried and understood
- Maybe you could have used the narrative costume as it would be more memorable
Magazine advert:
Pros:
- Colour contrast between the red, black and white are effective and stand out, grabbing consumers attention
- Contains valid information for a magazine advert
- the shadowed face has greater effect on the impact of the picture
Cons:
- the text in the left hand corner is hard to read due to being white!
- the logo and mention of 'limited edition digi-pak' is too close together, and makes it feel clustered
