Theoretical study into audience.

Blumler and Katz argued that audiences are ACTIVE and not PASSIVE and approached and use media products for the following reasons:
Diversion: A form of escaping from the pressure of everyday.
Personal relationships: where the viewer gains companionship, either with the television characters, or through conversations with others about television.
Personal identity: where the viewer is able to compare their life with the lives of characters and situations television, to explore, re-affirm or question their personality.
surveillance: where the media are looked upon for a supply of information about what is happening in the world.

I will now apply this theory to our work.

1. I think that the viewer will be entertained by our video because eit fills most of the criteria that makes a good video because we have fast cuts to keep them interested, we have a good narrative that is easy to follow and easy to relate to.

2. Are they entertained- I think the viewer will be entertained because of the personal relationships within the video. Because some of the the viewers will be able to relate to how the girl is feeling. she feels as if she has been played, and left on her own when she needed someone. Also the effect we used whenever you see the girl also helps the viewer to be more empathetic towards her.

3.I feel that younger girls would not like to be alice (the girl) in this vide because she is left heart broken and alone in the rain. On the other hand i think guys would aspire to be keifer (the lead singer) because he's in a band, he has confident and sings.

4. There is a lot of information available to the audience due to surveillance. we give them information such as what the band looks like what they are all about, so to speak. also we give them such information on who the girl is texting on her phone.
